Hi! I’m Erin! B.A., B.S.W., M.S.W., R.S.W and Independent Contractor at Rebound Total Health. From a very young age I have been referred to by others as a kind, caring, genuine, and compassionate person. Being patient, understanding, and empathetic are qualities I have earned through volunteering in nursing homes and from working alongside families and individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. I have gained an understanding of our diverse population, personal and system inequalities, and the harms caused by exclusion while working as a front line social worker in a border city. Much of my experience includes engagement with individuals experiencing a crisis by providing immediate support, assessment, and intervention. For the past two decades my passion and partnerships has been focused on the well-being and safety of children by partnering with families and communities.

Life throws A LOT of challenges our way. Hard times, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, family struggles, child difficulties, financial hardship, school issues, fear, isolation or even self-care struggles. For those who need to process trauma, I know that working through past trauma is not easy. It’s natural to feel hesitant or uneasy about discussing prior traumas and upsetting events. Certain issues going on in your present life may be the result of prior trauma and by addressing that root-cause, you may be better equipped to move forward. With your dedication and willingness I will help you overcome any traumas from your life.

What does a session with me look like?

You will receive my utmost attention, support, compassion and empathy, patience and guidance when working with me. I will ask questions, give input, share my thoughts based on my education and experience and may give you activities to complete or resources that will aid you in achieving your goals.

My approach

Social worker’s use theories to describe, explain and predict social events based on scientific evidence, studies and research. Social work perspectives draw from psychology, philosophy, economics, education and other fields. These theories help me as a social worker to analyze cases, understand individuals, create interventions, predict intervention results and evaluate individual outcomes. I have spent twenty years educating myself on new and evolving theories and have studied and implemented many therapy modalities to help individuals find the best solutions. We will work together and choose the most effective therapeutic approach(es) to work towards your desired outcome.

Client-Centered

You take the reins during sessions as we strive towards your own growth and progress. Your goals set the trajectory for therapy, and a long the way, I will act as your guide and a source of support and insight.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Together, we will examine your past experiences in a safe way. With a strength based approach. you may learn about the impacts of trauma while rebuilding a sense of control in your life.

Crisis Intervention Model

This model is used for individuals who are experiencing a crisis and trauma or for clients who require intervention to prevent physical harm or suicide. I will enable you to express your feelings and emotions, explore safe coping, create an action plan and follow up.

Problem-Solving Therapy

I will help you identify the problem and the source of the problem. Together we will create an action plan and execute to achieve your goals. Together we will discuss the effectiveness of the problem-solving strategy and adjust as necessary.
