MEET YOUR SUPERVISOR

Lindsay Hummelink

Clinical Supervisor, Registered Social Worker

Hi! I’m Lindsay! a Registered Social Worker and clinical supervisor here at Rebound Total Health. I have spent my entire career in mental health in a variety of settings including hospitals, community, and more recently private practice.  I have always identified with what I believe it means to be a social worker, which is why I have pursued private practice in addition to working full time as a clinical manager in a specialty mental health hospital.  I too have had to overcome many challenges in life, both personally and professionally, impacting myself as an individual and my family.  I appreciate how difficult it is to ask for help and want you to know you can count on me as your co-pilot and teammate.

With over a decade of experience with a wide range of populations and presenting problems, and an easygoing, fun, relatable approach, I would LOVE to support you on your supervision journey!

Working With Me

When working with me, you can expect to be treated with dignity and respect.  You can expect me to ask questions to make sure I understand you.  You can expect me to support you with setting goals and developing a plan to achieve them.  You can expect me to meet you where you are in your journey.  You can expect me to support you in finding additional or alternative services if I am not the right fit for you.

Worth Mentioning

As clients decide who they want to work with for counselling, there’s lots to take into consideration! Here are some additional perks you should know of!

  1. Honesty, Trust, and Comfort: I provide a space filled with compassion that allows you to be your authentic self. My non-judgmental, open-minded, and personable approach creates a comfortable space where you can feel relaxed to express whatever’s on your mind. The more trust we develop, the more success we see in supervision and then, therapy!

  2. Flexible Modalities: Supervision is not a one-size fits all approach. Some methods work well, while others may not be what you’re looking for. Supervision is for you; therefore, I use a variety of therapeutic modalities and interventions to support you on your journey. Something not working or doesn’t feel right? Let me know! We’ll find what works for you.

  3. Flexibility: I offer evening and weekend sessions to ensure your supervision does not conflict with your already busy schedule. I also offer different modalities to suit your learning style & financial needs.  Unsure about booking online? No worries, just send me an email and we can find something that works best with your schedule.

What does a session with me look like?

In supervision, we can explore clients, cases, interventions, modalities, the business of therapy, safe and effective use of self & all other intricacies of therapist life. We’ll set up a plan that works for you, and structure our supervision sessions to suit. I’ll ask for feedback along the way so we can tailor this experience to your needs. You can expect humor, and a real human, non-judgmental style.

This is your life, and I am here to support you. Let’s work together. I strive for my clients to feel heard, supported and valued.

Strength-Based

Discover and develop your strengths and unique talents. This approach is not problem-focused, but instead involves positivity and empowerment to discover your strengths and apply them to your life.

Integrative

Using an integrative and holistic approach allows me to use techniques and strategies from different theoretical frameworks such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), etc. An integrative approach sets the stage for more flexibility and personalized experience.

Solution-Focused

A goal-directed, collaborative approach aimed at addressing your current problems and providing adequate solutions based on your lifestyle. Together, we will develop solutions instead of focusing primarily on problems.
